Copenhagen, Denmark:   A lot of great things have come from the Mother Country – Lego, Lars Ulrich, Vikings and well….Danishes.

But this isnt one of them.  An impending tax on all sweet things will come about as a nationwide crackdown on unhealthy food.  The tax is expected to boost the National Economy by DKK 1.5 Billion every year.  A range of taxes on chocolates, candies, sweets and ice cream will be followed by similar taxes on margarine, butter, oils and saturated fats.

Experts have warned that the Danish will soon be compelled to cross the border for a sugar fix, which will not only boost the ecomonies of neighbouring countries but effect general sales in Danish cities. 

So stock up on twizzlers and twinkies before setting of on your next Danish family vacation.
