There has been a plethora of news articles and events involving Ice Cream Van drivers in the news lately. I have been monitoring the Ice Cream news from around the globe for our regular readers, and by golly – One would need a extra life insurance in most states to take the treats to the streets.
Recently there have been Ice Cream Carts stolen, Vans robbed by gunpoint, and one young mum who was actually hijacked in her own van.
Daisy, who drives the van to support her parents Ice Cream Parlour in Fort Pierce FL, was serving customers in suburbia, when the assailant jumped into the van, pointed a gun at her and drove off. Daisy handed the offender a whopping $160 cash and then he fled. Proving you cant keep a great ice cream seller down, Daisy is back on the streets selling her families finest. She is a fine example to us all. So when you see your local Ice Cream Van on the street or in your neighbourhood – Blow a Kiss, tip your hat or better yet, buy a cone. They certainly deserve a little good cheer.
